About the Rotary Club

Our Rotary Club was chartered in 1926 and has been a force in progress in the local area since its inception. The Club has also made significant contributions on an international basis, supporting Rotary International, exchange students, and recent projects such as our Club contribution of $10,000 to Rotary International for the campaign 'Fulfilling our Promise to Eradicate Polio' and our own annual Holiday Party for local needy families.

Meetings

The unique qualities of Rotary spring from the fellowship of weekly luncheon meetings held every Thursday at the Hickory Ridge Country Club, Amherst. Guests include those invited by members, visiting Rotarians, local high school seniors, and Rotary exchange students. Picnics and parties for members with their families and guests are also held throughout the year. Regular attendance at weekly meetings is required, although a certain number of absences is permitted. Absences may be made up by attending meetings of other Rotary clubs. All Rotarians may make up meetings at any of the almost 30,000 clubs around the world. The Amherst Rotary Club enjoys many visitors from foreign countries.
